Mare... you are stressing me out!

Listening to the podcast my brother participates in.
We are waiting for some comment he made about family... which is funny because we all think he'll have kids before either of us.  By we I mean, me & Juli.

*nothing to get stressed about... except for maybe that he just told the world he will probably be a home wrecker one day.

It's simply a bunch of cute penguins waddling around on ice / snow.

Kind of amazing because it's from my Dad, and it's unusual to get something like this from him.

He is usually more serious.

Oh hello again 2am.  As always I'm up until the single digits of the night doing Calculus homework. I'm listening to my brother and his friends' podcast.  It's pretty good.

About 5 minutes ago I heard the door to my parents room open and kitty and my step dad running out of it.  Next thing I know I heard the spray bottle in machine gun action.  Kitty runs downstairs.

Suddenly, the smell of vinegar was wafting through the air.

Apparently my step dad grabbed the wrong bottle and sprayed the cat with one my mom uses for cleaning.
Pretty awesome.
Felt like I needed to share.

Now fat kitty is sitting on my bed and smelling like vinegar and we're both pretty disgruntled.
I've voted that if this is going to continue that Juli should have the same treatment applied (minus the vinegar maybe).

my "I hate mosquitos with every bone in my body" garden

For those of you who don't know how many bites I can accumulate in a single hour from mosquitos... well it's a lot.  Lately, they have somehow managed to sneak into our bedroom and bite both of us while we sleep.

Losing sleep to a strange hum in your ears and then itching yourself to death is misery.

So I did a little research to find out what kind of plants they DON'T like.

Marigolds.

Lavender.

Peppermint.

Chives (garlic).

and Cat Nip!

Although, I have no purchased my Cat Nip yet... and I haven't finished planting all my plants.  I'm excited to be potting and planting my little garden on our balcony.   This is my first garden :)  I feel so domestic.

I love most of the plants that mosquitos supposedly hate.  Makes me happy.  I'm excited to read my book and drink coffee upstairs with Jay.
